Leveraging the Power of CCS7MACD

Today we put the finishing touches on our IPoV-CCS7MA/CD test bed. It is still proof of concept, however, we are confident enough to present the design to the community.

The diagram pretty much speaks for itself. Unfortunately, our European partners couldn't get hold of any holographic disc backup systems and had to settle for Blue Mamos II.

One thing we are currently working on is improving the majesty of the CCS7MA/CD frames. Currently, we are just jamming them down the phone in a haphazard manner. We are looking at developing an enhanced algorithm that will neatly fold the CCS7MA/CD frame, tag it and stack it neatly to avoid data creasing.

Hi Claude,

You seem to know everyone in the voice and data game - I'm wondering if you could recommend who to talk to for migrating to a VOIP PBX?

The reason we are changing is due to a bungle by our current equipment supplier. Apparently when they installed the PABX they left it without any form of protection from the public and our system ended up getting used by every phreaker in the country. Needless to say STDs are only the start of our worries.. Apparently the form of concent we signed allowing the service company to remotely use and configure our service also meant that everyone else could to. No more unsafe switched networks for us anymore.

We're going for IP as it's far safer. We want our own techs to manage the server and they say we'll only do it if the IP PABX is running windows - they know how to use it (as all our servers run Windows ME) and if there are any problems they can run a virus scanner once a week. So what do you suggest? Are there any good VOIP PABXs around and who should we talk to to find them?

Thanks!

Jack Phoney.

I see that you know that STD's are a form of PABX virus and need to be eliminated as soon as possible. Most STD's are spread by callers having unsafe hex. As you have pointed out, your PABX has no protection, so phreakers are free to create STD's as much as they like.

It sounds like you're onto the right track with migrating to a VoIP system. Simian Technologies have a good solution and their techs will come on site to install and configure it. However, they tend to play around in windows too much, so make sure that your guys only give them limited access. The last thing we need is another casualty.
